TTATOG and I (GYA) had the privilege today to see DJ MacHale live on his tour.
He was amazing.
There is always a scare of seeing a great author, and he just doesn’t live up to expectations, but DJ delivered. He was extremely funny, intuitive, friendly, and most of all, he was very considerate of those who had and had not read his latest book, Raven Rise.
So to all you out there who are indifferent–go and see him. It’s well worth your time (and you can get a book or two signed!)

For those of you who have read book nine, here are some questions we have yet to answer. (Scroll over)
-When Bobby leaves “Traveler land place,” will he be alone, or will other Travelers be with him?
-Are Mark/Courtney dead?
-Is Press back for good?
-Who is SD?
-Who is Bobby for that matter?
-What is the nature of the Travelers? (SD sure knows, or does he?)
-Will the Travelers still exist if the battle is won? Lost?
-What will happen to Bobby if they win. Will he wake up and find himself fourteen again? How is he going to pass his time if they are the last generation and he has no one to pass his knowledge on to? (Will he marry Loor when the whole thing ends?)
There are many, many more. Feel free to post some of your own questions. Unfortunitally, all we can do now is speculate. It’s going to be a looooooooooooooooooong year.

DJ MacHale, the author of the Pendragon series announced a little while ago that he has finished his first draft of the final book. He says it has a “killer ending.”
I hope the pun was intended.

For those of you who were not with us a week or so ago, I said that the Pendragon series by DJ MacHale was the best series in which the last book has not yet been published. Well, book nine out of ten came out today, and not only did I manage to get my hands on it, I finished it. First of all, it was amazing. The suspense, plot twists, action, emotion–amazing. But that was not the best part.
The end.
It was simply the best ending of a book I’ve ever read. I am a big reader. I’ve read classics, and hundreds of science fiction and fantasy novels . . . this ending blew them out the window, and scampering away for their lives. Unbelievable. But that’s not completely right. In the context of the “Pendragon World,” it was totally believable. Yet, you couldn’t see it coming, and it blew you away. It’s like pieces have finally come together after years. No, not “it’s like,” they have.
So now, let me give you one piece of advice: read these books.
First of all, they’re all great on their own level. Each one provides just what a fantasy/science fiction/fiction in general reader wants. They’re great books simply put.
But the ninth. The
end of the ninth. It is truly worth reading the first eight just to read the end of the ninth.
So now, I leave you, hopefully newly enlightened.
Go.
Read.
It’s worth your time, believe me.
Harry Potter and Aragorn kneel at Bobby Pendragon’s knees.
